The candidate of the department, Dr. Attia Abdul-Kadhim, faculty member in the Production Engineering and Metallurgy Department / Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing Engineering Branch, obtained a certificate of completion of the e-learning trainers course, which was established by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the IREX organization and the US Embassy, where the course continued for the period from May - June / 2020 .

Commence electronic exams in the department

The final electronic examinations of the Production engineering and Metallurgy department commenced for the morning and evening initial studies and for all scientific branches of the academic year 2019-2020 on Saturday, 25/7/2020, under the direct supervision of the Head of Department Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas and scientific Assistant A.prof. Tahseen Fadhl Abbas with distinguished efforts by the exam committees in the department to follow up and manage the exams and handling the problems that may expose during the performance of the exam.

It is noteworthy that the exams are to conduct through the educational Google Classroom equipped with all the necessary means for the success of the exam process, according to the rules and controls of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the presidency of the university directions in order to preserve the health and safety of students as well as the attention to the necessity of continuing the educational process in the country. This comes within the framework of precautionary measures Taken by the Iraqi government to prevent the spread of the COVD19.

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan al-Ghabban, esteemed and under the direct supervision of the Chairman of the Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy, Prof. Dr. Mona Khudair Abbas, the Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy / Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Branch held a workshop under the slogan: “Zakat on science Dissemination” with the title:

University work ethic and its importance in spreading science in society

This will be held on Monday 10/2/2020 and on the hall of the late Professor Jassem Al Hayani in the department, where the workshop program included two sessions chaired by Dr. Sami Ibrahim Al-Rubaie, Head of the Mining Engineering and Metal Extraction Branch and M. Shaima Taleb Ghani, Rapporteur of the branch.

The first session included two lectures:

The first lecture: “University work ethics” Prepared by: Dr. Wafa Kamel Mahmoud, Dr. Samar Saadi Hussein and Dr. Majid Ibrahim Fadel, delivered by Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Muttalib (visiting professor from Malaysia).

The second lecture:

“The importance of pure and engineering sciences in society” Prepared by: Assistant Prof. Abdul-Khaleq Fawzi Hammoud and Assistant Prof. Raghad Hamid Hilal Assistant Prof. Muhannad Farhan Hamid and delivered by Dr. Abdul-Khaliq Fawzi Hammoud.

While the second session included three seminars in which three scientific researches were discussed and accepted at the third international conference for science and engineering organized by the Egyptian-Japanese University in Alexandria / Arab Republic of Egypt for the period (14-17 March 2020) and he gave the seminars each of the following:

Scientific Assistant of Production Engineering and Metallurgy department , Assistant Prof. Dr. Salah Kareem Al-Jawad inspected course of the electronic exam for the English language course for graduate students (PhD) for the first semester (2019-2020), and was accompanied by the Director of the Department of Graduate Studies,Assistant Prof. Dr. Makarim Hazem, on Thursday morning, 6/2/2020, where the electronic exam was conducted in the primary computer lab in the department, and the scientific assistant heard the students' opinions on the nature of the questions and their compatibility with the methodology of the established scientific subject and wishing them success and success.
